Railway Minister Piyush Goyal launched a web portal 'Rail Sahyog' on September 11, 2018. This portal will be a special platform for Indian Railways through which the business groups of the country can fulfill their social obligations through rail.
Inspired by the vision of the Prime Minister to build 'New India' by the year 2022, Railways has been taking countless initiatives to improve the infrastructure, technology, cleanliness, etc. so that passengers can have a pleasant experience during their journey.
Key facts related to Rail Sahyog portal:
• This web portal will provide a platform for contributing to the creation of facilities on and around railway stations through the CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) Fund.
• The unique feature of this portal is its simplicity and transparency. This portal will provide the industry / companies / organizations the best opportunity to cooperate with the Railways.
• This portal will prove not only for travelers, but also for the areas surrounding the railway.
• Railways will invite private companies to fund their CSR funds to provide facilities for the passengers in the station premises through a separate portal called 'Rail Sahyog'.
• Through rail Sahyog, business groups will be able to contribute to different public facilities at the railway stations of India. Business groups and government companies will be able to invest money for railway passengers with facilities for water, toilets, rest houses, seating facilities, waiting rooms, lighting facilities.
• To construct toilets at all stations and to install condom vending machines there, low cost sanitary pad vending machines, hotspots, free wifi service at stations and their initial maintenance for one year will be arranged.
• Installation of bottle crushing machines at 2175 major stations in terms of environmental is also another activity. The empty plastic bottles left by railway passengers will be crushed in these machines to manage plastic pollution. Its cost is around 3.5 lakh to 4.5 lakh rupees.
Interested Companies:
Interested companies can make their contribution on this portal through the registration of their requests. The railway officials will be processing these requests. Based on the principle of 'first come, first serve', these requests will be sorted out and selected applicants will be notified about depositing the funds related to railway or designated agencies such as rights / railtel etc. After this the designated agency will complete the related work.
